Visitor notice for our dialysis centres

We ask for your understanding that we have to restrict the entrance of family members and care takers in our dialysis centres during the time of COVID 19 outbreak.

If you accompany your family member, please ideally avoid entering the dialysis centres. If your entrance should be unavoidable, please follow the guidance of the clinic team.The entrance to the treatment room will be restricted.

Please be aware, if you accompany your family member for physical assistance, our clinic team is prepared and will take the full physical assistance.

Our COVID-19 Waiting room etiquette

Our clinical staff is trained in infection control practices. Especially during the outbreak of COVID-19, we ask you to pay close attention and to follow our waiting room and dialysis centre etiquette for these circumstances.

  • Your temperature and potential symptoms will be checked
  • For precaution measures, you may be asked to separate from others.
  • Wash/ Disinfect your hand incl. AV fistula directly after arriving at the dialysis centre & before departure
  • Don’t crowd around the dispenser
  • Keep distance from others when moving around the dialysis centre, > 1,5 m
  • Leave enough space between each other when sitting in the waiting room, > 1,5 m
  • Try to avoid unnecessary movement
  • Avoid touching surfaces & furniture as much as possible
  • Wait to be called in the treatment room
  • Greet others from distance and avoid physical contact
  • Try to avoid eating or drinking in the dialysis centre
  • Reduce bringing newspapers, tablets (or comparable) 
  • Don’t share newspapers (or comparable) or leave them behind for others
  • When sneezing and coughing, cover your nose or mouth with your elbow or a paper tissue

Dialysis at home

When you perform Home Haemodialysis (HHD) or Peritoneal dialysis (PD) at home, please also consider our recommendations regarding prevention, staying home, social distancing, following your nutritional routine and physical exercise. Please also follow the recommendations of social distance min 1,5 m, when you will receive your treatment supplies.

We recommend to you that you develop a treatment plan for the case that your caregiver may become infected with Coronavirus. Make sure you know who can help with your treatment.

In addition, please align with your physician on the following aspects:

  • Check whether you have a sufficient stock of medication & treatment supplies
  • Check on the scheduling and management of your regular follow-ups
  • Inform your clinic team if you feel ill with symptoms of COVID-19
