Kidney and Kidney Failure

When you have kidney disease your kidneys slowly stop working and they are no longer able to perform the important functions that keep you healthy. Kidney disease cannot be reversed, however, if the loss of kidney function is detected early enough, preventive measures can slow down the progression of kidney disease – moreover, in some cases renal replacement therapy can even be prevented. Living with kidney disease is manageable, we are there to support you, but remember that you as a patient also have an important role to play; your active cooperation is a very important aspect – much more than is normally expected from non-renal patients.

In this section you will find information about the kidneys, kidney disease stages, treatment options and possible comorbidities.
