Directions

Pre-heat the oven (200°C/circulating air 180°C)
Peel the potatoes and cut into thin even slices (with the kitchen grater or a potato peeler - this requires somewhat more effort).
Dab the potato slices dry with kitchen roll and put into a large bowl.
Melt the butter and pour it over the potatoes, add the thyme and salt and mix everything well until all the potato slices are covered with butter.
Arrange the potato slices upright in a casserole dish, so that they are slightly fanned and stand close to one another.
Sprinkle with salt and bake until crispy in the oven for approximately 45 minutes.

Nutrition Tips

In order to reduce the potassium content, you can peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices a few hours before cooking or on the evening beforehand. You should then soak the potato slices in a lot of water and change the water every four hours until such time as you prepare them. Then just dab the potato slices dry and continue with the recipe - don’t forget to preheat the oven!
